Lower Viséan Ammonoids from the Lower Mount Head Formation, East-central British Columbia
註釋Lower Carboniferous ammonoids of early Visâean age are abundant and diverse in microbial carbonate mounds in the lower member of the Mount Head Formation in east central British Columbia. The purpose of this report is to describe the ammonoids, explain their biostratigraphic significance, and to review the stratigraphy and depositional setting of the lower Mount Head member. It includes information on the regional stratigraphic and palaeotectonic setting, descriptions of eight lithofacies, interpretations of their depositional environments, a sequence stratigraphic analysis, and comparison with middle & late Osagean ammonoids elsewhere in North America, as well as systematic palaeontological descriptions with notes on species composition & distribution.
