Letter Book
註釋James Spear Loring's publishing and bookselling business required him to travel often which is evident from many of his wife's letters to him. James also was fond of research and writing; he wrote "The hundred Boston orators" and was mainly responsible for the manuscript of "The Loring genealogy". The book of letters ends with the death of James' and Anna's second child, Anna Isabelle, and is an excellent account of how a nineteenth century family dealt with infant mortality.
