Foraging Behaviour of Forest Birds of the Dry Interior Douglas-fir, Ponderosa Pine Forests of British Columbia
註釋Few Canadian studies examining the relationships between forest structure and bird population dynamics and/or foraging behaviour have been published. In 1983, a study was begun in the dry interior of British Columbia investigating the relationships between forest structure, logging techniques and bird communities. Concurrent with that investigation was a study of the foraging behaviour of the most abundant breeding species to characterize the feeding methods of each bird species in multidimensional space, to compare the foraging use of quantifiable habitat variables with their availabilities, to identify species that showed the highest degree of foraging similarity, and to examine the influence of logging activities on niche overlap and foraging behaviour. This report summarizes and interprets the results of the behavioral study.
