註釋
From the Introduction: This is a study of the information Canadian banks have been compelled to provide to the federal government as a result of the Employment Equity Act of 1986....The intention of the Act is to provide information on the employment conditions of designated target groups, specifically those who have been discriminated against in employment. These groups are women, aboriginal peoples, persons with disabilities, and those who because or colour are a visible minority in Canada....The banking industry should certainly be embarassed by its poor performance in the employment conditions of the designated groups discussed here. In almost all indicators of employment status, the banks perform substantially below the national average and below that of all employers covered by the Act itself. The focus of this study will the country's six largest banks...These banks are the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, the Royal Bank of Canada, the Bank of Nova Scotia, the Bank of Montreal, the Toronto Dominion Bank and the Banque Nationale.
