註釋Poet, critic, and translator, Joao Cabral de Melo Neto has established himself as one of the most respected and influential poets in twentieth century Brazilian literature. During his lifetime, Cabral has served as a diplomat in Spain, England, and Switzerland and as an administrative officer in the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture. He has been honored with many prizes. This anthology brings together a representative selection from more than a half century of work, and along with previously translated poems includes many others in English for the first time.
