註釋
Given the tremendous importance of global mergers and acquisitions (M&As) as a driver for company growth, it is essential to understand the importance of the M&A ability to foster the melding process of two organizations. The biggest mistake that decision makers can make is to underestimate the complexity and ambiguity of acquisitions. Consequently, empirical research is introduced providing insights how to foster acquisition performance. This book provides insights into three M&A components that affect its success. The first component is the M&A function. This book examines the tasks, structure, and factors necessary for the success of this function. Second, a learning process must be integrated in order to develop M&A capabilities. Therefore, several concepts and methods are discussed, providing practical and academic insights into attaining a higher-order M&A capability. Third, the intrinsic nature of an M&A capability is examined, including potential deficiencies in a firm's acquisition capability and solutions to overcome them. This book is intended for M&A leaders, experts, and academics. Because the underlying aim is to support individuals utilizing M&As as a vital tool for strategic alignment and growth, this book is designed to be useful for individuals with the following responsibilities: -Establishing an M&A function or responsible for its future development-Managing the M&A value generation process and M&A performance-Conducting research that impacts M&A performance and M&A capabilityThe overarching goal of the book is to introduce various methods that can be used to improve value generation in the M&A process. The concept of organizational learning is offered as a solution to the problematic fact that half of all acquisitions do not generate value. By means of organizational learning, managers can develop their firm's M&A function and grasp the advantages of capability building.
