Emmuska Orczy was a Hungarian-born British author and artist. Orczy was born of nobility and would go onto become one of the greatest authors of the 20th century. Orczy's best known works are her classic novels featuring the Scarlet Pimpernel. The Scarlet Pimpernel is Orczy's most famous novel and one of the most popular books written in the 20th century. The action is set during the Reign of Terror and centers around the cunning Sir Percy Blakeney as he tries to rescue people who are sentenced to die by the guillotine.
