註釋Presents a copy of the text of the Starr Report, an investigative account of President Bill Clinton by Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr and released in 1998. Starr's presentation caused uproar and led directly to only the second impeachment trial of a U.S. president in the history of the nation, the first in 131 years. The consequences of the Starr report included a tarnished legacy for President Clinton, an unexpectedly close presidential election in 2000 after it laid out a graphic account of Clinton's and White House intern Monica Lewinsky's intimate affair. The Starr Report alleged that President Clinton had lied about the existence of the affair during a sworn deposition.
