Tavern in the Town
註釋In towns throughout New Zealand, inns and taverns were the main meeting place. They were often used as a club and sporting centre, and for live theatre, politics and marriages. The author travelled New Zealand twice from the backblocks of Northland to the Bluff stopping at the hotels of his choice, interviewing old identities and digging into newspaper files and library archives.
