The aim was to assess whether socioeconomic status has an impact on the prevalence of head and neck cancer in Sheffield using postcodes in lieu of deprivation indices.MethodsA retrospective analysis of all new head and neck cancer diagnoses was undertaken with 197 patients identified and their postcodes were analysed.ResultsThere are 45 post code areas in Sheffield with differing populations but 44.6% of patients were from 4 of these 45 postcodes (p
