註釋This is the story about the adventures of a 14-year-old boy during the summer of 1937. The book is based upon the journaling done by the young boy. The diary was not discovered until years after the June 25, 2002 death of Raymond John Curran. RAYMOND provides an exact transcription of the diary kept while on board the Hamilton and Tahoe - United States Coast Guard Cutters. The transcription is accompanied with ship logs, photos to complement the diary, and author comments to provide context to this amazing journal. The journey began on June 3, 1937 from the Brooklyn Navy Yard and ended at New Bedford, Massachusetts on July 25, 1937. The journal describes his experiences on board the ships, as well as in ports of call such as, Jamaica and Cuba and his passage through the locks of the Panama Canal.
