The Great Southern Railway Company of Georgia - The Great Southern Railway Company was incorporated by an Act of the Legislature of the State of Georgia, approved Cc tober 17th, 1870, with general and special powers to con struct and Operate a railroad from Millen to the St. Mary's River, there to connect with the road constructed in Florida. In connection with existing roads, the line thus forms a direct through line between all the Southern, Western and Northern States and the West Indies, Central America, and South Almerica.
