The Last Man Is Dead
註釋This story is about the last days of Rudolf Hess and what might have really happened to cause his death.The Maier family are captured while trying to escape from the German Democratic Republic over the Berlin Wall. The teenage son, Rudi Maier manages to escape across the wall, but the rest of the family become hostages of the State. Zelda Maier , Rudi's younger sister, and her mother are sent to a closed village in East Germany for Zelda to be educated and indoctrinated into the ethos and methods of the East German State. She is eventually infiltrated into West Berlin and forced to serve as a STASI secret agent. Zelda disguises her true purpose, obtaining secret information from allied service and diplomatic personnel, by running an exclusive 'Health Club' near the Olympic Stadium. Jeremy Kilmoor -Jones commands the Army Air Corps helicopter detachment in West Berlin and he becomes one of Zelda's targets on account of his predilection to masochism.Rudolf Hess, the last of Hitler's compatriots, has been incarcerated in Spandau prison in Berlin for more than forty years and there is a move by the Soviet, French and American occupiers of the city to release him. The British Government is vehemently against his release and instructs the British Military Government in Berlin to ensure he is kept in prison so that he cannot reveal the details of his flight to Scotland in May 1941 - and his true identity. When the other occupying powers agree to release Hess the UK Government sets in motion a highly secret plot to keep him silent.
