Soybean in Cropping Systems in India
註釋Soybean has achieved an important place in the agricultural and edible oil economy of India. Besides contributing about 8 percent to the national edible oil supply, its development has resulted in a rural revolution and an improved socio-economic situation for farmers. Apart from its role in making India almost self-sufficient in edible oil, it offers good prospects for the alleviation of pulse protein malnutrition which is widespread in the country, particularly among the weaker sections of society. This publication presents a critical analysis of the cropping systems in the different agro-ecologies of India and also discusses the overall situation of soybean within the cropping systems under diverse conditions.
