Multicultural Attitudes and Beliefs of Monocultural Students and Teachers in a Rural Environment
註釋This study is a report on the attitudes and beliefs of students and teachers in a rural monocultural elementary school, after implementation of a multicultural training program. The researcher developed a multicultural sensitivity questionnaire and compared fourth grade students' post-intervention responses to multicultural issues. Teacher surveys and interviews were used to determine teacher attitudes and beliefs about multicultural education. The students in the treatment group did not have significantly different responses from those in the control group. Teachers indicated that they valued multicultural education but it was unlikely to become a priority in their school.
