The professional work component details the author's experiences working in the Investigative Unit at NBC Universal. Field notes and samples of work are included. In the research component the author examines how credible news consumers believe a military story to be when information is attributed to either a high-ranking official or an average soldier. Stories about military maneuvers and stories about soldier morale are studied. This section includes a literature review, example stories and study findings.
