註釋
This paper focusses on a management system in the transportation domain, with emphasis on vehicle dispatching systems that basically require the assignment in real time of new transportation requests to vehicles. The paper proposes an information management framework characterized by a distributed architecture made of three categories of components called agents. The managed entities are the environment components which are represented by their behaviour. When significant changes occur, the managed entities interact with the manager agents which are specialized in event processing. The manager agents interact also with supervisor agents when their processing load reaches a pre-defined threshold. The supervisor agents have complete visibility over all manager agents and delegate information processing tasks among those agents to maintain the required performance level. Each manager agent can adapt its behaviour to its specific environment. Examples of scenarios illustrating network management agents that collaborate with the dispatcher are presented.
