Sonde Experiments for Comparative Measurements of Optical Turbulence
註釋Five different instruments were used in multiple experiments to measure atmospheric turbulence in the form of the refractive structure constant, C sub n squared. These included UHF radar, optical scintillometer, modified radiosondes, AFGL thermosondes, and aircraft micro-thermal measurements. Described here are the radiosonde and thermosonde electronics and their calibrations. The data reduction scheme is described and a brief program description is given. Although the different instruments gave measurements somewhat separated in space and time, first results show good agreement between the radar, scintillometer, and thermosonde measurements.
