Phase I Report : Northern Alberta Tourism Product Needs Study
註釋This study had the following objectives: to investigate the role of tourism services, amenities, activities, and attractions as a motivator, barrier, or facilitator of discretionary travel to Alberta north of Highway 16; to explore specific tourism product needs; and to identify the locations where tourism development is likely to prove most beneficial. The research methodology involved conducting focus groups whose participants included northern Alberta visitors, non-visitors, and those going to competing destinations. Findings are presented with reference to current and potential tourism markets, preferred destinations and activities, market needs, tourist experiences, services and facilities, the northern Alberta image, strengths and weakness of northern Alberta as a tourist destination, and the appeal of certain attractions such as adventure lodges and First Nations culture.
