註釋Sebbene non si lasci il Louvre senza aver visto la "Gioconda" si rimane stregati dalla bellezza delle opere di Chardin, Rubens, Fra Angelico, Rembrandt, Quentin Metsys e El Greco, Poussin e Corot. Ma a pochi passi si trovano anche altre pitture che si è creduto talvolta scomparse, come per esempio alcune pitture greche, mesopotamiche e provenienti da Dura Europo.
