Probably the salivary glands are the most histologically heterogeneous group of tumors and the greatest variety of morphological characteristics among their cells and tissues among all the tissues in the human body. Over the past 40 years, our knowledge of salivary gland pathology including the classification and behaviour of many of the tumors, has been evolving.

This book entitled “Recent advances in salivary gland tumor pathology” brings collective information regarding etiology, histological types and diagnosis of all types of salivary gland pathologies. It provides a full description of all important aspects so as to allow the reader to gain a better insight of each pathology discussed. It focuses on the role of Genetics, increasing use of Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsies and morphological variability of tumors by Immunocytochemical Profiles in different salivary gland pathologies.

Hereby we attempt to accumulate all the recent advances and information which has gathered over the past decade on tumors of the salivary gland. So this information may be useful in diagnosis of salivary gland neoplasms and guide us about the prognosis of individual neoplasm.
