註釋The present volume publishes the features and finds dated to the Naqada period from the settlement of Elephantine, located in the first cataract near Aswan. Spanning the period from the very beginning of settlement activity in prehistoric times until just before the construction of the early fortress in the middle of the 1st Dynasty, it incorporates topographical and geological data with architectural and stratigraphical studies of the earliest development of the settlement and the temple of Satet. Another focus lies on Elephantines position at the border with Nubia and its relationship with the Nubian A-Group. Includes chapters on the pottery, figurines, models, jewelry, tools and other objects found at the site. German text.
