Roman Dmowski
註釋A biography of Roman Dmowski (1864-1939), the founder and leader of the Polish National Democratic Movement. Up to the First World War, Dmowski's antisemitism was mainly influenced by nationalism, aiming at the exclusion of foreign influences and greater Polish participation in commerce. Analyzes Dmowski's writings and the growth of his anti-Jewish "obsession" in the 1930s, possibly caused by failure to obtain American support for full Polish demands at the end of World War I, which he blamed on the anti-Polish influence of U.S. Jews. His antisemitism may also have developed in order to avoid the imposition of the Minorities Treaties. Emphasizes Dmowski's role in the Endecja's adoption of fascist motifs. However, he was opposed to the use of German or Italian methods to achieve power.
