註釋The European railways meet great expectations in future, being accepted as one of the most environmental friendly transport means. However, the position on the market and the existence of the railways are increasingly determined by the system productivity and the performance. The Low weight train, a reduction of operaating cost can be achieved, energy conservation due to reduced masses, reduced wear on rails and wheels, higher loading capacities of cargo trains with heavy transformators requires a consequent reduction of total masses of the train by optimal light weight design. The aim of the project is to reduce the weight of motor bogie by the use of light weight alloys and other modern materials. In the project 9 partners from Italy, Germany, Austria, Greece and Slovenija are involved. At selection of innovative light weight materials and evaluation of the structure by modern methods of simulation and analysis, IMT will test materials with respect to the operational loading conditions and corrosion. The fatigue test will be done on samples of innovative materials with particular attention to the welding joints taking into account corrosion.
