註釋In Lightning: A Collection of Poetry is an eclectic mix of subjects; emotions, nature and human fallacy are tackled in this interesting book. Will was the first poem written in the collection. The piece describes the author's internal barometer of confidence, one that often fluctuates. It took the longest to complete at nearly two months and over ten drafts. Finishing the poem gave Christopher Spencer the willpower to move forward and write the other pieces. As the poem says, Alas, Everest appears not so high/ Suddenly, it seems quite possible to climb. Childhood is characterized as a carefree and glorious time, but it is not just that. It's a time of adulation mixed with fear and sadness. Carefree laughter, constant cheers/ Ceased applause as conscious nears/ A desperate cling to trusting hands/ The ocean awaits the grain of sand. Raised in Philadelphia, Christopher A. Spencer currently resides there. Publisher's website: http: //sbpra.com/ChristopherASpence
