The economic viability of papaya farms in the Puna district on the island of Hawaii is assessed. The analysis utilizes a number of formats with which to judge the economic viability of these farms. These are cash flow analyses; expenditure analyses; profitability indicators, including internal rate of return, present value, and benefit - costs ratio; and sensitivity analyses.
