A light-hearted mystery novel with a steadily rising body count and a dark heart. Helen Hendricks is trying to be supportive and take the disappearance of her best friends’ husband seriously, but Delia’s husband, Bill, has done this before. Bill normally brags about where he is going to though, and this time he has literally just disappeared off the face of the earth. 

No-one else is taking it seriously. In fact, the kids have a competition going to find which is the most outrageous sporting event he might have run off to; the Book Club girls are pretending they are the ‘Women’s Murder Club’; and best friend Delia keeps trying to set her up with the lead detective. But who is in the black mystery car the kids say is following them everywhere? 
A robbery and two car accidents later, it seems some very dangerous people want to know where Bill is. And they don't care who they hurt in the process.
