註釋engl. - Küng, Moritz: The artist’s book Katalog (Catalogue, also known as Der Zettel Katalog [The Card Catalogue]) was made to document the Austrian National Bank’s inventory catalogue of about 2.6 million file cards and to commemorateist classification system that became obsolete in 1998 when digitisation was introduced. When Ernst Strouhal, a chess and cultural historian, and friend of Zobernig’s, learnt from the librarian Hans Petschar that a card catalogue of eighty-four box drawers was about to be decommissioned, the two arranged for it tob e exhibited as a ‚sculpture‘ in several different institutions. The accompanying publication, whose title Katalog was printed in bold uppercase letters, includes articles on the history of archiving, ..., and on the catalogue as object ... as well as facsimiles of library regulations (Heimo Zobernig’s ‚Vademekum: Zu den Regelwerken, eine Auswahl historischer Titel chronologisch gereiht‘ [Vade Mecum: On Regulations – A Selection of Historical Titles Arranged in Chronological Order]), and photographic documentation oft he analogue card catalogue(eighteen full-page black and white illustrations by Octavian Trauttmansdorff).There is also a comprehensive two-part documentation section of historical texts compiled by Monika Hoxha, Monika Kiegler-Griensteidl and Hans Petschar.
