Pax Romana
註釋The period covered by this book, 31 B.C. to A.D. 193, is often referred to as the Golden Age of the Roman Empire. In his scholarly reappraisal Professor Paul Petit challenges many long-held assumptions. Drawing on a wide range of sources he discusses some of the contemporary social and economic problems and shows how the period was in many respects as fraught with tension and difficulties as the later Empire.
