Metallographic examination of the fire grate
註釋The fire grate of 10 MW bark and wood fired boiler were metallographic examined. The fire grate was made of high chromium white iron and was mounted in the as-cast state. One part of the fire grate were damaged by high temperature oxidation. Fire grates degradated in a period of 7 to 8 month. A fuel feeding is carried out with screw elevator. By injecting water the ignition of bark and wood in the screw elevator is prevented. Water flows to fire grates too. A cooling of fire grates is carried out by blowing the combustion air from bottom. The temperature in combustion chamber is from 900 to 1100°C. The results of chemical analysis, microstructure examination and hardness measurements is given in the report.
