註釋Road Works was a program designed to bring art work out of the gallery and out into the open, so that the entire community could enjoy it. For six months, the art work of six Florida artists appeared on outdoor billboards in Jacksonville. The project was officially announced at production mid-point at the annual luncheon of the Arts Assembly of Jacksonville, along with a slide show introducing the concept of Road Works and the participating artists. Advertising and promotional materials such as a 4-color, 3-panel brochure and counter cards appeared in local galleries and museums and all branch offices. A preview party was held for the unveiling of the billboards and a 30-minute presentation was aired over the local T.V. station. As a result of the Road Works project, Barnett Bank of Jacksonville was the 1983 recipient of the Governor's Award for the Arts.
