註釋This compilation identifies 9,008 South Carolinians who held true to their devotion to State and Nation and were surrendered at Appomattox Court House, VA. and Greensboro, NC. These lists are based on two sources. The Appomattox Roster by R.A. Brock published in 1887 and reprinted in 1962 by the Antiquarian Press, Ltd. The second source is the Greensboro parole lists held by Brigadier General William Hartsuff, U.S.A. and deposited in the National Archives The Greensboro Paroles have not been published. These parole lists were microfilmed in 1985 for the author in three rolls identified as Fee 418. This publication gathers in one place The South Carolinians who were under arms at the end. It is the third book in a trilogy including Broken Fortunes and Dark Hours. It will be of value to genealogists and historians."--Jacket
