Inventaire des archives du Commissariat général aux questions juives et du Service de restitution des biens des victimes des lois et mesures de spoliation
註釋The introduction (p. xiii-xxxi) gives an overview of the history, purpose, organization, and functioning of the Commissariat général aux questions juives, created by the Vichy government in March 1941 with the purpose of executing its anti-Jewish policy. The Commissariat was in charge of registering Jewish persons and keeping files of and administering confiscated Jewish property. After the liberation, the Service de restitution was given the task of returning the property to its owners. The inventory of the archives (designated as AJ38 in the Archives nationales) is organized according to subjects and geographical divisions, the largest section being on Aryanization (p. 63-240). The entries generally contain a brief note on the contents of the file.
