註釋Always a man of innovation, Klimt soon tired of his early roots in decorative arts and began to concentrate on painting, with the emphasis originally on portrait work. His style is very distinctive due to its use of mosaic, decorative patterning and abundance of gold. Many of his pictures were of women in intensely erotic poses, which caused an outcry among the citizens of Vienna, who regarded some of his works a little more than pornography.
