註釋The intent of this report is to outline the specific impacts of human activity that are judged deleterious to the future health of ecosystems of the Taiga Shield Ecozone in Saskatchewan. The report begins with a description of the Ecozone and its physical, biological, & cultural environment. It then profiles the stresses imposed by natural processes and human activities (land use, water use, exploitation of renewable and non-renewable resources) and the present condition of the environment (physical, biological, and cultural, including land, air, water, wastes, renewable resources, and culture/heritage). It also outlines a broad range of activities that are being conducted to mitigate negative impacts on the environment in such areas as mining, acid precipitation, water management, pollution prevention, waste management, renewable resources management, environmental assessment & monitoring, and public involvement. Appendices include descriptions of landscape areas & forest communities in the Ecozone, lists of flora & fauna, and a glossary.
