註釋This report summarizes the deliberations and findings of a committee established to help develop provincial policies and regulations with respect to home-based education in Saskatchewan. In considering various questions related to accountability, curriculum, instruction, evaluation, funding, services, and dispute settlement, the committee took into account the constitutional and legal framework within which parents may educate their children at home in Canada, the provincial educational policy framework, and its own operational principles. The report presents the committee recommendations in such areas as the categories of home-based education programs (HBEP), the regulation of HBEP, eligibility criteria for registration of a HBEP, responsibilities of provincial and local educational authorities, secondary-level credits and standing, and settlement of disputes. The appendix sets out the recommendations in outline form.
