Garstil, lead engineer for Tempest Online, develops a deep-dive neuro interface, and it's about to be tested on a group no one will miss: prison inmates. But when the cons mount an escape, and it goes terribly wrong, Garstil is killed and immediately teleported into Tempest Online.

Now he must learn to survive in his own game while adapting to a medieval world of villages, sorcery, magic-wielding undead, and unlimited questing. While learning basic survival skills like cooking, he must level up quickly to defeat the rampaging hordes.

Of all the things to happen in the game, Garstil wasn't expecting to fall in love with his teacher. A lovely NPC named Samantha. She shows him how to use his powers, and together, they will face the villains of Tempest Online together.
