Sankar, an MBA from the US, having a flourishing corporate career in Delhi gets married to a beautiful bubbly, effervescent girl, Chitra, nine years younger to him. They have a blissful and funfilled two years of marriage when Chitra is suddenly afflicted by a strange viral disease and is bedridden for life. He gets transferred to Chennai and on the train journey to Chennai meets a young widow Anuradha and her six year old daughter Nithya. He is strangely attracted to them and soon they begin meeting often and their friendship grows into love.
