註釋
As an experienced occupational therapy clinician, I decided to dip my toes into the sea of higher education and to explore my capacities as an educator. I soon found myself immersed and my induction has been a steep, challenging and exciting learning curve. This paper describes my efforts to determine the meaning of scholarship in teaching and learning in higher education. In particular, I found Andresen's (1996; 2000) exploration of scholarship, including his description of critical reflexivity, applicable to my development needs. I have used a reflective process about the characteristics of scholarship at both the micro and macro levels of teaching and learning. Through reflection, I have found capacity to gain insight and an understanding of the academic community. At the 'micro' level, I was able to break down what scholarship means for me and to develop some personal strategic directions through the use of a concept map (Novac & Canas, 2008). The crux of my understanding about the 'macro' came from the University of South Australia teaching and learning framework (2007). From this, I was able to develop another concept map integrating this framework with my developing understanding of scholarship in teaching and learning. My learning has been dependent upon having a supportive team and mentor.
