註釋
A qualitative study based on a sample of 13 Lebanese women was conducted in Beir ut, Lebanon. The purpose of this study was to explore the various ways in which sexual meanings are created, changed, and modified as the nature of social disco urse and personal experience change. The theoretical framework that guided the methodology and analysis of this study is social construction theory and a feminist perspective. The underlying assump tion is that sexuality is socially constructed, is shaped by social, political a nd economic influences, and is modified through life experiences. The present study looked at the cultural, societal, religious, traditional, and personal sexual beliefs of young Lebanese women, their experiences and expectati ons, and how these influenced the ways in which these women perceive, feel, and experience their own sexuality.
