A spectacular compendium of international street art stars The city as a canvas--Heidelberg's urban space has been undergoing an artistic transformation since 2015. During this time, largescale works by renowned street artists have created unusual perspectives on public space. To mark the tenth anniversary of one of the largest street art festivals in Europe, a book is now being published that presents more than 100 murals by over 140 international artists. Graffiti and murals are an integral part of urban subculture. Public art has the power to bring together and connect people of all ages, regardless of religion, background, social status, or political stance. And where new connections are made, there is also room for the seemingly contradictory: The old is combined with the new, resignation with new beginnings, urbanity with romanticism.
