Survey of Major Issues and Trends Relevant to the Management of Elementary and Secondary Education
註釋Research conducted during the last decade supports the notion that educational reform must be comprehensive and systemic. This paper summarizes major issues and trends in the management of elementary-secondary education. The synthesis is designed to promote an understanding of how broad in scope systemic reform must be. Twelve chapters present information on trends in the following areas: the changing social and economic context; educational reform and restructuring; the evolving patterns of governance; leadership--the changing principal's role; the training and selection of school administrators; women and minorities in educational administration; instructional personnel; the school-choice movement; school finance; labor relations; educational facilities; and school law. References accompany each section. (LMI)
