註釋'Weapons for the soldier' is a major project bringing together Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australian artists to examine complex themes of weaponry, warfare, and protecting land and country. Developed during the Anzac centenary, the project was initiated by the young men of the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunyjatjara (APY) Lands of remote South Australia, including Vincent Namatjira, Aaron Ken,Derek Thompson, Anwar Young and Kamurin Young, with support from senior artists Willy Kaika Burton, Ray Ken, Peter Mungkuri, Mumu Mike Williams and Frank Young. Weapons for the soldier is the second partnership project between the artists and art centres of the APY Lands and Hazelhurst Arts Centre, Gymea NSW. Exhibition dates 11 November 2018 - 3 February 2019.
