There are over 7,300 entries referring to 208 schools (e.g. Italian, Japanese), 321 categories (e.g. Oil painter, Fashion, Photographer) and 350 subjects (e.g. Anal sex, Bacchus) dating from approximately 3000 BC. Critics, historians, costume, buildings and gay art anthologies are covered, as well as religions, hermetic traditions and law. The work seeks to place gay art in its social and cultural setting.
