Theology and Christian Ethics
註釋"With his earlier writing James M. Gustafson established himself as a highly original thinker, both practical and theologically sound. In Theology and Christian Ethics he develops guidelines for Christian living that balance spiritual and moral theologies and investigates the ethical issues in our technological society, particularly in biomedical development and genetic engineering. Theological ethics differs from humanistic, philosophical, or secular ethics because it begins and ends with a commitment to God. Gustafson explains these differences and relates his concepts to contemporary Christian living in the first part of the book. Part two includes a substantial exploration of the biblical basis of ethics that is fundamentally sound. He also stresses the unity between the spiritual and moral life and provides a Christian perspective for moral discernment that is significant to the understanding and practice of ethical Christian life. In the final section of the book, Gustafson considers ethics and the sciences, including the "social" sciences."-Publisher.
