註釋
Contents, besides the initial Introductory Lectures, undated, includes two clinical lectures each plainly dated January 14, 1758. The first, "Pleripneumonia Notha," concerns the case of John Read, "teacher of writing and arithmetic"; the second, "Gravel & rheumatism," concerns Mary Veitch. (Available patient registers for this period at Pennsylvania Hospital do not include these names, although John Read is clearly a hospital patient.) The lectures plainly delivered to a class, presumably of private pupils, may have been delivered by Cadwalader, or possibly Zachary or Thomas Bond; existing ledgers, papers, etc. of these men do not confirm. The early lectures are probably not in Alison's hand, since he would have been only 13 years old in 1758. Brief notes on surgical lectures, 10 p. at end of volume; in between are pages headed with various diseases, some with brief notes following. Index covers whole volume.
