D. is an ordained Presbyterian (USA) minister and an educational psychologist and counselor. He was a pastor of congregations for 20 years. At the age of 50 he earned his doctoral degree. For 25 years he was a licensed psychologist in the State of Arizona. During the Korean War, he was a chaplain in the United States Army. Lyle has been married to Arlene Russell Olmstead for 64 years, and they are the parents of three children. Arlene and Lyle have four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Currently, Lyle and Arlene reside in Tucson, Arizona.
