註釋In 1992-93, the Expert Committee on AIDS and prisons visited correctional facilities, reviewed and analyzed relevant national and international policies and documentation, and solicited information from inmates, prison staff, and those with an interest in HIV/AIDS and prisons. This report presents the results of the Committee's work, incorporating responses to a working paper prepared as part of that work. The report analyzes issues and possible solutions relating to such matters as seroprevalence studies, HIV testing, offender medical information, prison housing and activities, educational programs for inmates, preventive measures for inmates, protective measures for staff, health care and services, compassionate release, and special issues related to women and aboriginal inmates.
