Impact of the Spruce Budworm on Balsam Fir and White Spruce in the Laurentian Reserve, Quebec : an Interim Report
註釋The spruce budworm (Choristoneura fumiferana (Clem.)) outbreakthat began in western Quebec in 1967 gradually progressedeastward and reached the Laurantian Reserve by 1972. In 1979, 37study plots were established in the Laurentian Reserve to followthe progress of the mortality of balsam fir and white spruce. This is a report on the 1983 situation when only 6 percent ofwhite spruce trees wer dead while mortality of fir trees reached54 percent. Elevation, stand age, treatment, and white spruceare considered in the analysis.
