The research work was part of a broader project of systematic research of European painting held in the various art museums of the city of Buenos Aires that started in 1998 and was coordinated by the Universidad de Buenos Aires. The study was initially directed by Maria Teresa Espantoso Rodriguez and concluded by the author while the project was directed by expert art historians Héctor Schenone and Angel M. Navarro.
